"DELIA DRIVES OFF WITH PROTON
NORWICH City majority shareholder Delia Smith has become the UK's first registered owner of Proton's latest design after buying the car for her own personal use.
The GEN-2 has been designed from scratch and built at Proton's new Malaysian factory in Tanjung Malim.
And Delia today collected the keys to the car she first ordered while on the Club's pre-season tour in the Far East.
She said: "I went right round the factory and I saw this one coming off the production line. I then saw them being tested around the track and fell in love with it.
"I'm absolutely delighted to own one."
Brian Collier, managing director of Proton Cars (UK) Ltd, said he was delighted Delia had chosen the GEN-2 as her new form of personal transport.
"Delia first saw the car on her tour of Malaysia when she went to the new factory," he said. "It's a brand new car built in a brand new factory. She saw it and immediately said she wanted to order one."
The cars are all fitted with air conditioning as standard and are priced from £8,995."
Well, it's an improvement on most of their styles and the "handling" is by Lotus....whatever that means
