Give him a call about the back of 4. See if the car is there yet. Ask him what freebies your getting extra aswell.

Don't try you don't get. :D

He is day off today if i remember correctly. :(
I am planning on asking for a few freebies or something a bit more expensive, but have a few things already for the car eg fragrance dispenser, boot liner, rubber mats,Italian wing badges, tax disc holder, italian flag keyring, seat belt pads and a couple of key covers!!!!
Thats what happens when you get bored waiting and have a generous wife. :D
Might ask for a free 1st service or failing that will go and look through the accessories brochure again to see if there is anything else.
Any suggestions?
Will they have been told when it will be arriving mate or will it more than likely just turn up?

Don't know that one I'm afraid.
Usually they just turn up. But with Fiat UK being involved that changes the situation.
Tell you what to go for if you havent already.
Service plan for 3 years. Ofcourse you want it at a reduced rate. AC plan already saves a shitload of money compared with fiats own version. Get the AC one with maybe £50 nocked off and you'll get you 3 years servicing for less than the proper price of the first one. Don't care how far north you live thats a bargin.

Will give it a try mate.
I always thought it was Fifers who were renouned for being grippy?
I once saw one drop a fifty pence and it hit the back of his head on the way down.
I was worried you were going to advise me to ask for some free furry dice!!

Well the car has no damage, marks etc, clean bill of health.

You got the 500 yet?

Keeping seeing a yellow Grande on the journey home from work...still undecided!

Nope.
He called me today and said he is still waiting for a V55/1 to come from Fiat, this form allows them to apply to transfer my private plate onto the 500. This is for transferring a plate onto a new unregistered car.
I was a bit dubious of this so called DVLA in Swansea and explained about my situation and apparently this form does indeed have to come from the manufacturers and he was infact telling the truth!
So looking unlikely I will have it this week by the look of things so will have to wait a bit longer I suppose.
A bit peed off to be honest as my mates 500 arrived the same day as mine and he picked it up today which he has taken great delight in telling me. Happy for him but I'm no nearer to getting mine though.

Would it not have been easier to get it registered normally, and then to transfer the plate afterwards, so you could at least drive it?

Seems this is how dealers (AC anyway) do this now.
If I had to do this again I would put the plate on retention and then put plate on at a time that suited me.
However its too late now and I will just have to wait simple as.

See that's what I'd thought..I supposed it'd have been a different story if the car being traded in didn't have a personal reg on it (or if there was no trade in) but that's life :?

Least the cars here. Won't be too long now surely!

Ahhh, I didn't realise the Civic was being traded in for the Cinquecento, I thought you were keeping it as well...

I wish...
Wouldn't have another Civic as its not that good to honest. 2.2 diesel Engine is excellent if a little thirsty in day to day use, but the materials used inside are not the best (**** if I am honest) by a long way (mine is 2 years old and the trim is showing signs of wear already). The fancy instrument panel simply cannot be kept clean (magnet for dust) and it seems to have new scratches on it every time I get in it! Add to that the fact that they wanted over £200 for an updated satnav disc and servicing not being the cheapest it was time to part company.
