Hi

I'm looking at a return to owning another cento after being away for over 10 years. I had my Cinquecento sporting for over 4years. Had a 1242cc fitted, abarth kit, 4 branch manifold, buckets seats etc oh and martini stripes which if there is some original members may remember.

I've been in fiat coupe ownership ever since pretty much. However due to a change in circumstances I will be looking to replace with a Cinquecento/Sei sporting/abarth/Schumacher. Not sure which at the moment.

Welcome along bud, was good to see you a couple of years back. Good luck with the search, will you be tweaking it once you've got it?

Hi Richard and others:cheesy:

Im glad to see your still here... was that really 2 year ago since i seen you at SICD??

Oh im not sure about the tweaking... think i will leave it alone for a wee bit perhaps:cry2:

Id like it to be a cinq but find me a good one for about 400 if you can though id settle for a sei i guess

Certainly was Brian, doesn't time fly! I'm with James, I would have another cinq over the sei as it felt better to me, a little less refined. However with some of the examples on the market and prices, the newer sei would make more sense. Either way they'll be a big step down from the coup

Too be honest Im looking forward to getting another cinq or sei. I only drove a friends sei very very briefly so cant comment. The many coupes ive had will never be forgotten.

Ive got a very limited budget of about £400 if i can find something that be great.... do they ever come up around that on the forum for sale section?

Its proofing difficult at the moment to find a cinq in scotland... where are they all hiding?? perhaps going to have to settle for Sei:alcoholic:

Pretty much all scrapped sadly, the odd 899 still pops up every now and then, but the sportings are virtually extinct. A mix of the scrappage scheme, zero insurance value (meaning they even get written off for a parking knock) and a couple of very harsh winters (boot floor join rusting) have probably seen numbers drop by about 75% in the last 3 years :(

I still have mine, but it is engineless still, i'm needing a proper look at the condition of the underside

Its sad thats the way they end up being scrapped.

There is the odd one or two on gumtree and ebay etc though mostly there not great examples and i know im asking a tall order trying to find one within my miserly £400 budget. Im most likely to find a seicento for that than a cinq. Hopefully i may have found the one... friend of a friend has a cinq that he may be willing to part with though im waiting to hear about that one and it is fairly local.

Thanks for the offer Jatkinson but dont be stealing parts off it for your cinq....

thats why ive been getting good offer prices for mine theres not a lot of good anes left

Well a couple of phone calls today... one for 1998 R cinq sporting and 1999 V Sei sporting

A little more info, the cinq needs welding done inside the boot and on along the sill on passenger side. Its done 45k so its a little tempting and basically he wants £130 for the car. Its got no tax and mot til end of feb. Is this worth considering it needs welding done? I do know someone that could do the welding for me.

and the sei is has done 62k, looking for £400, its mot aug 2013 and tax feb 2013, but the catch is 1st gear is not engaging after new clutch was fitted for its last mot. Im not sure if it may need adjusting or what.

Would either of these be worth considering?
