Hmm, I'm trying to figure that out but i'm pulling a face similar to that of Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory when he's stuck...

The easiest (relative term) way that I have had this explained to me was as such....

Speed of light is constant, but also relative. Take a car travelling at the speed of light -1m/s. To an observer outside the car, it would appear that the light extends from the front of the car 1 meter more every second, ie 2sec = car+2m. 4 seconds = car+4m. To the driver, the light is travelling at the speed of light, so it acts in the same way as it does on your car when you are driving (normal light distribution/throw)

A friend is asking...

They hit the rear of a car the other day, they stopped and got out to talk with the other driver, however the other driver left the scene of the accident.

I'm presuming the other driver is uninsured. But my friend is at fault.

What happens in the eye of the insurer?

Do they have the other cars reg?

Check if it's insured: http://askmid.com/

Does anyone know what ATT stands for, and its function on my pioneer headunit? Seems to half mute sound when hit, but seems a bit pointless imo, not sure if this is its truefunction or not?

tell them nothing and fix it

:yeahthat:

Unless he wants to claim for damage to his car, then just report it to insurance and say the other driver drove off, claim will be no different to if they drove into a bollard and no other car was invloved.

On my Kenwood, it mutes... -- but, as you say, not wholeheartedly! [On the Jag I currently have as a courtesy car, the same function is accessed by pressing the 'phone button on the steering wheel....] Press and hold (on the Kenwood), and it dims the display....

Hope this helps...! (y)

PS: IIRC, it stands for "ATTenuate"....

I had that. I reported it to the Police. Never heard anything of it, just said XYZ (not sure what the index was) cut me up and crashed into me. He drove off while I was pulling over.

It does indeed stand for attenuate, which basically means "reduce" or "lessen" etc.
