A friend has just put petrol in their diesel bimmer, can they just drain it and put diesel back in?

Was a full tank or just a splash and dash run? If the latter he should just be able to brim it with diesel and it'll be ok.

I'm guessing it was a full tank because he said the RAC had quoted £200 to empty it.

Drain, and then fill with DERV, then bleed system through to injectors so diesel is in the line and not petrol still.

my insurance offered me cover for this £15 a year, i thought they was trying to sell me idiot tax

Thats roughly the going price no matter how much they put it.

I had someone recently fill up some huge range rover thing, £120+...wrong fuel, had to get the RAC/AA out, they charged something like £300, plus they had to fill up again . Expensive day for them lol.

I haven't, but then again there is only one pump that you attach to the car, so it'd be rather hard for me to do - just got to see if I ever drive off with it attached still
