HT leads, need some new ones and on eurocarparts there is a set for £30, which sold out today obviously:rolleyes:, and a set for £16, is there gonna be any difference? Theres no brand name with them but then there isnt for a set that are £40 but the £30 have a brand name.

Was reading a book I got, that states that the Police can direct traffic to ignore road signs etc (guessing red lights come into that?), one of the things that was bugging me was if a police car was on blues, came up behind you at some traffic lights, you drove past, but got a ticket for it. Not sure if it would be a defence though. Can't remember the wording now lol.

Only a vehicle with blue lights and siren can proceed through a red traffic light, and only with extreme caution as they will be considered responsible for any accident caused.

Blue-light vehicles are not allowed to bully other road users into breaking the law. I drive on blues regularly and have been trained to kill the siren when approacing stationary traffic at red lights as it may force them to do something illegal.

Does anyone know where to find a image like the wall paper in this?

Don't have a clue what to search for on Google!

Traffic lights
why is it there are lights set (so it seems) to turn to red in the early hours, when a car approaches?
regardless of no other traffic in the other lane(s)

Is it supposed to stop speeding?
surely in this eco friendly time we should be creating free flowing traffic systems

I don't have the answer, but there's one down here that i pass through regularly.. thing is, once i get to it and select 2nd gear it goes amber again.. then green and i carry on, although the road then carry's on under a railway bridge. I don't understand it either, you can't go much above twenty along there anyway so it can't be due to speed control.. down here anyway

Most traffic lights just run on a simple timer, so no difference whether it's day or night. More complex and busier junctions often have variable delays on the lights to correspond with traffic volumes.

I pass a major junction on my way to work at 4.30am. It always changes to green as I approach. I'm led to believe there are headlight sensors to reduce the chance of a vehicle being needlessly stopped when traffic is light.

yeah, theres lights on my way to work that change to green as a reaction to headlights.
however there are also ones that change to red. with absolutely no other traffic on the roads bar me.
one set has cars sitting for 5 minutes before they change(yes I timed it  )
yet the next set after that changes to green as the headlights hit them

There is a set of lights like this near where I live. They are at the crest of a long steep hill where there is a junction to a new estate on the right. I used to get caught by these lights at 4.30am(ish) every Monday - Friday.
Certainly in the case of these particular lights, I would say they were there in order to control speed. Bloody annoying though.
