Was cleaning my pride and joy this afternoon and as i lifted my driver's side windscreen wiper it fell apart. No problem i thought just nip down the local motor factors for a new one. Wrong!! after trying 3 different shops finallly found one that stocked a wiper blade for my Bravo. My smile was soon wiped off my face when the guy said ''That will be £15.35 please''

What a rip off just imagine how much a Fiat blade would cost. (n)(n)(n) Don't know about u guys but i'm used to paying £5 max for a windscreen wiper blade. With the Bravo it's a different design and clips into the wiper arm as one complete unit. The motor factor guy said i was lucky as these blades were now Cheaper than last year as more vehicles have these blades fitted as standard.

The genuine flat wipers are more expensive but they do seem way better than the the older type...mine are originals at 34k and still work perfectly, no noise or smearing etc, i thought I needed new ones but I cleaned the screen with vinegar and the judder has stopped, no plans for new ones yet! Plus they probably do cut wind noise but in a modern car who knows.

Also...Arnold Clark Fiat will fit a new pair of GP ones for 19 pounds, not bad considering Halfords prices etc (not that I will ever buy from HellFrauds)

SOmething i always wanted to share is that, my bravo/ritmo is now 1800km's (1 month old) and the wipers aren't the smoothest. My father has a Yaris and is the same age as mine because we bought it the sametime and you can barely hear the wipers on his car. On the Bravo its lie the rubber is old. Its very noisey. and as the wipsers come down they smudge. Plus I also had one night when I was using the auto wipe option, the wipers would stop randomly at any place on the screen. I had to always manually bring them down by choosing other wiping modes. It was so strange. I am getting them checked this weekend. But my question is, are the wipsers maybe pressing too tight on the glass? Is there adjustments? Also are they normally this loud?

Can't really compare one to another - who's to say the Yaris has used the wiper as much - and has the screen been damp enough for the wipers for the bravo to wipe cleanly? Too many variables.

Mines nearly 30,000 miles and original blades still going well.

VW Fox - screechy juddery wipers. Renault Megane Scenic - screechy juddery wipers. Renault Clio - screechy juddery wipers. These are cars of colleagues.

Fiat Doblo - silent smooth wipers. Dunno why, but I use a lot of screenwash, which is supposed to have some form of lubricant?

Back wiper not working due to bugg@r@d motor

To be honest, the blades on the test-drive Bravo I tried were also kaput. The passenger's blade was making a strange noise, and what's worse - it didn't do its job correctly. Then the dealer (who was driving the car at the moment) kinda admitted that he has seen this issue before and it is a weak point in Bravos. Maybe they fixed it later, or it's just a matter of luck. Hope mine will not have this issue...

that's actually cheap.

ask me how much I paid to replace my xenon headlight.

the price isnt too bad.

when i was a student i used to buy a length of rubber for £2.50 and refil the wiper. it didnt last long and they were sh!t. when i got the stilo i always changed them without refilling and never had a problem but it was about £25 for a full set of bosch ones. i get £8 jobs for the saxo.

I still use the £2.50 refils for rear wipers. there was always enough to do the stilo and saxo

That's what I would also say to people if I had the original xenon. Instead, I'll have something pretty close plus a plasma TV or something :D

Thanks for the input anyway, don't want to dig again into this...

I'm saying that because I saw my bravo next to one with a $300 HID kit fitted. :bang:

The light beam looks completely different.
