Pure sillyness, I get the feeling this is more a publicity stunt than real auction now. No-one would spend that surely, its not even really a cult car or anything, theres like what 12 epsidoes or summit?
yeah but a cinq, c'mon. Surely not. Just can't see someone who has that kinda money getting excited about it. Perhaps i'm just an uncharitable scrooge

People pay that kind of money for much less everyday ... shiny rocks dug up in Africa for example, tiny wee things but sell for thousands of ££'s. Sure they're rare, but this is unique.
I think I'd rather have the shiny rocks though

i thought someone might say that - difference is fawlty towers has stood the test of time, inbetweeners is far to recent to compare it to fawlty towers. I very much doubt in twenty years people will still be watching it. Its funny but it ain't that good nor does it push any boundaries really like fawlty towers did.
I found the car on ebay before I found this thread; £21,100 with 2 days to go!! I had to get me proper glasses out just to be sure i was reading it right.
This just goes to show how celebrity obsessed we have become in the UK. Hello!!!! It's a cinq with 78k on the clock and an odd door and I don't care where its been (whether that's in between or not).
It is pure madness and must go down as the most expensive cinq of all time. Will this have an effect on the value of cinqs as a whole?.

doubt it.. cinqs and sei seemed to go up a bit due to the sudden lack of them due to that ridiculous scrappage scheme . I really don't see many anymore and a fwe years ago they were everywhere!
