Gaz- Don't they have something silly like a 600 keeping up with a 1200 or samething?

errm i dunno, but the end chase involves a bike called the Y2K (could be real), its got the engine from a helicopter in it and it got speeds of 200+, yet the rider doesnt wear a helmet

Ok Films that involve cars/ car chases etc, I've included a list below, with a few comments,

The Fast and The Furious
(A TOP quality film & a MUST see for any car nut, although the plot & script isn't fantastic, and the cheese factor is HIGH, its a CULT CLASSIC)

2 fast 2 Furious
(CHEESE factor 10/10, more cheese than you could ever want, but again & a MUST see for any car nut, with some great car action)

Taxi
(French film about an eX pizza delivery guy that has a tuned PUG 406, the film is in French and if your a car fan you'll love it, but you have to concentrate to read all the subtitles)

Taxi 2
(Again in French and basically continues on from the last film, not as good as the orinigal but still pretty good.

Gone in 60 seconds (Nicolas Cage)
Nicolas Cage and Angelina Joile (as Mase Abarth said), a really good film and a MUST see. Based on the story of the original.

Gone in 60 seconds (The original)
The original film, recently remade, but this has all the clasis cars in where as the remake has all the modern stuff, the main part of this film is a huge long car chase that truly is EXCELLENT (The DVD and video are quite hard to get hold of thow, it took me ages to get it)

Getaway in Stockholm 1, 2, 3 + 4
Have you ever wondered if you could get away from the law in a car chase, well wonder no longer as some crazy people have done just that in Stockholm, and then did it again the next year in Getaway in Stockholm 2, and then again and again, each time using better and faster cars. There's no video editing in any of these, camera's are strapped to the car and everything you see if as it was. Anyone who likes car chases HAS TO SEE THESE FILMS, they are unbelieveable.

HTH make your mind up what to watch, purchase, borrow from a friend (or download of the net ;)

you forgot some!!!!

Vanishing Point
This 1971 cult classic stars Barry Newman as Kowalski. His task? Drive a Dodge Challenger from Denver to San Francisco in 15 hours. A bit of a post-Easy Rider hippie flair, but the chase sequences set against the back drop of the open territory of the western states are spectacular.

Ronin
John Frankenheimer set out to make the chase scenes in this movie be the ones that future directors would study when they wanted to create an incredible chase sequence of their own. We think he succeeded. You'll have white knuckles from gripping the arms of your recliner in this one. And between the chases you get a darned good action flick.

The French Connection
Although this is not a car movie, the chase sequence is largely credited as being responsible for one of this movie's 5 Oscars (best editing). This is a crime thriller about cops on the trail of a heroin shipment. But it contains a chase scene that was heralded as the best ever at the time it was filmed. Many of the stunts in this chase were actually real and unintentional such as the lady with the baby carriage who nearly gets mowed down.

OH and DUEL :D

taxi is a quality film (y) havent seen the second 1 though. i cant remeber which get away in stockholm, i think its 2 but not sure...? but the best 1 is with the cossie and the supra, that is awesome :D:D:D makes me want a turbo, for the dump valve :D

gumball is brilliant, my fave part is when those kids try to keep up with the bloke in the porshe GT3, they pull along side say "hey buddy, wanna race?" and he just calmly looks at them and says "its not a race, its a rally!" and speeds of into the distace :D

Ronin

Yeah your right, that is also a quality film, and I've got it as well, can't believe I forgot to mention it.

Oh and "C'était un Rendezvous", which is like get away in stockholm but was made years and years before it, its only 9 minutes long as thats the longest film they had for the camera that was mounted to the front of the Ferrari 275 GTB. It was shot back in the 70's and is of the driver racing through the streets of Paris. THIS IS BRILLIANT :D

F&F is utter pants! Big Bridget Jones ones!

Ronin, great chases with excellent camera viewpoints.

Getaway is ace, real stuff not scripted pants.

Can't really think of any other car films ATM.

Liam

Taxi 1&2 are ace! loved them both! :D

Mad Max films are damn cool too.

Gone in 60 Seconds owns...big time! the original isn't as good IMO but i prefer the style in the recent one

FF films are a good watch. Kinda cool to watch, just not concentrate too hard on the storylines.

Pissed off i missed Bullit now:(
