So today, i installed my first amp. i got it here from the classifieds, for £20, its was a Vibe Blackbox I. I've been after an amp for a while but didn't want to spend 80 - 150 on one. so, i thought for £20, i couldn't go wrong.

The amp makes a huge difference to the overall sound, its absolutely amazin, the sound is undistorted at huge volumes, the bass has been tightened no end, the mid's, everything, is more pronounced.

The only downside.... the wiring was £10 dearer than the AMP !!!

had a few installation issues as well, which were:

  • Earth not to a proper earth location so amp was only getting 8 volts.
  • Fronts not workin when amp was on ? fixed via headunit

Both were really irratating, and since it was my first amp install i couldn't figure em out straight away..

But, for £50, i'm extremely happy with the results, the next stage is to do the front Speakers :D

were did you get wiring from  that amp only needs 8 guage, i bought a kit for £8. (iv got the same amp btw, not wired up yet though)

halfrauds.. i dunno what guage it was, it didn't say on the packet, but its rated for 600w.

I went to my local sound specialist and they wanted nearly £50 for just the speaker wire :S but he was trying to flog me 4 guage wire.

I thought £30 for the kit might have been expensive but i'm not all that fussed.

Get over the fear next time, could have saved yourself a lot of money

I got a brand new unopened 4awg connect2 wiring kit for £15inc from a forum, absolute steal at that price.
