Can you please show me where this is permitted in the Highway Code?

I've just watched your original video again, and irrespective of the distance you gave the jogger, it seems to me that you react very late. It's almost bordering on a swerve.

Nothing that exciting but hey ho...
There's a hill going out of Marlborough on the A4 which has an overtaking lane that stops at the top on a bend.
Quite often someone will do a kamikaze overtake at the last minute.
Here the Ka in front has room to overtake the truck. I don't. The guy behind me really doesn't.

Back when I had the Panda there was a silver Vectra taxi that would pull this stunt and trundle along at 45 once he got in front :bang:

VW :tosser: on the wrong side of the road today, with no reason to be, when I turn the corner the road was clear of parked vehicles etc on his side of the road.

I had a Range Rover do a very similar thing to me the other day at the Nofolk & Norwich hospital, came out of the exit barrier and swung on to the wrong side of the road to go round a corner, unfortunately I was traveling on the piece of road she swung into.

Stopped very suddenly much like yourself in the video

after watching some of the video's i'm chuffed to bits i've got a couple of camera's in the car pointing front and rear even though a couple of friends and family said things like 'wtf have you got them for' :bang:

Interesting. I thought you should only prepare to stop on amber or stop if it's safe to do so.

Red driver should have checked his mirrors and carried on, silver driver should have stopped and the extra space could have been enough for the Police van to stop as well. ;)

amber means stop if you are asked on a test (in the uk)

"Amber traffic light
When a single amber light is illuminated, you must prepare to stop just before the first white line. You may only proceed through an amber is you have just crossed the stop line as it changes or are too close to the stop line that stopping may cause an accident".

As I thought.

No it doesnt i know a fellow class mate who did just that and failed his test for stopping for an amber light .......

that little highway code book gives these pearls of wisdom

175
You MUST stop behind the white ‘Stop’ line across your side of the road unless the light is green. If the amber light appears you may go on only if you have already crossed the stop line or are so close to it that to stop might cause a collision.
Laws RTA 1988 sect 36 & TSRGD regs 10 & 36

196
Pelican crossings. These are signal-controlled crossings where flashing amber follows the red ‘Stop’ light. You MUST stop when the red light shows. When the amber light is flashing, you MUST give way to any pedestrians on the crossing. If the amber light is flashing and there are no pedestrians on the crossing, you may proceed with caution.
