I'm in need of help.
I've been asked to provide the dash cam footage from my car.
I have tried to send the whole video file (23 mins) Un-Edited to the insurers, I have been emailed back saying that they cannot view the file from Dropbox. The video is too large to send via email.

I have tried to trim the video clip from my Go Pro Hero2 using the GoPro software but it has lost the sound. In addition when I try to download the video off from Dropbox the video file will not play. Does anyone know what i've done wrong?

Is it a problem my end or with Dropbox? (I am new to Dropbox purely for sending this video file)

Oh whats happened?

Why do they need 23mins?

A few min prior should be more than adequate.

The camera records in 30 minute intervals. Unless the card fills or the battery runs out, like it did in this case. The insurers should not need the full 23 mins but I can't seem to trim the video without loosing the sound? I'm using the GoPro Hero2 & their video package Cine studio. It's always kept the sound when trimming other videos so I don't understand the problem...

Copying the footage to CD and posting it looks like the way I'm going but don't have a computer which can process the footage at the moment because my laptop blew up and the old desktop is still being rebuilt and lacks any media players? (Simple download required but need a connection method :-( ) the rant continues in the grumpy thread but short version, no buses pass the shop and no car atm so a 3 hour walk to buy a network cable which I'm sure I have ;-(

Fridays Punto Driver - couldn't be bothered to shorten the clip as it happens near the beginning.

In hindsight a slight over reaction on my part, but had a HGV also cut me up about 5 minutes earlier and it seems all the idiots were out. Seems bright white cars don't stand out enough.

Watch it to the end if you want to see Toyota Voice Recognition fail :p

Nothing to do with white cars, its the natural reaction to a Pius (how it should be spelt :p )

From the highway code
165

You MUST NOT overtake
  • if you would have to cross or straddle double white lines with a solid line nearest to you (but see Rule 129)
  • if you would have to enter an area designed to divide traffic, if it is surrounded by a solid white line
  • the nearest vehicle to a pedestrian crossing, especially when it has stopped to let pedestrians cross
  • if you would have to enter a lane reserved for buses, trams or cycles during its hours of operation
  • after a ‘No Overtaking’ sign and until you pass a sign cancelling the restriction.
    Laws RTA 1988 sect 36, TSRGD regs 10, 22, 23 & 24, ZPPPCRGD reg 24

So, we have all these rules and regulations, not to mention the other laws this muppet disregarded.
However, I suspect plod would only really be interested in one rule from the HC...
168

Being overtaken. If a driver is trying to overtake you, maintain a steady course and speed, slowing down if necessary to let the vehicle pass. Never obstruct drivers who wish to pass. Speeding up or driving unpredictably while someone is overtaking you is dangerous. Drop back to maintain a two-second gap if someone overtakes and pulls into the gap in front of you.

168 is something that the TT driver seems to have never read.

Speeding up as its going past, its the TT drivers own fault if it was damaged when it mounted the curb.

But I know the place well, they had probably just come out of Boundary mill lol.
