Saw this earlier, there is a longer version floating around youtube.

I've been leaning towards blaming the mazda but i'm no doubt biased. If we could see it from the opposite direction then that would be better.

But I agree, mazda failed to give way but if the lambo was going the speed limit then surely he would have had time to stop, the mazda was pulling out fairly slowly, slowly enough for the lambo to take action in my opinion

Lambo wasn't excessively speeding though (if at all, it'll be checked by the old bill I suspect), that was 40MPH max imo.

Fact is though from a insurance prospective he had right of way and the Mazda didn't. It'll either be Mazda at fault or a 50/50 I suspect.

I just hope they have adequate insurance levels of cover... Take my traders policy allows one "performance" car per year.... brilliant you might think... until ready small print of mac payout being 5k ;)

I wondered how easy it is to see a car as low as the Aventador.... I got hit in my Mini Marcos by a reversing lorry once....I was below the height of his tailgate and he had no idea I was there.

A quick Photoshop shows just how low it is....

Add to this the speed, it's no wonder he didn't see him....

Oh boy.... the mazda's insurance will sure be pricey now....

Regardless tho - i think the Lambo could have probably stopped

How much braking power in that would be immense, so i seriously suspect that there is something todo with him speeding potentially

However there is no evidence to prove this
Only the mazda pulled out and didnt give way

Ziggy

Wonder if it had DRL's on

What gets me is people who run upto a crashed car and start helping yank people out of the car even at 30mph spinal and neck injuries can be serious Unless the car is burning or sat in a pool of petrol leave the people where they are and get them to sit still and not move their head till checked out by ambulance staff

BBC has picked up on the biker video...

"A motorcyclist has had a lucky escape on one of Europe's most notoriously dangerous roads and published the video as a warning to others. Jack Sanderson from Cheshire crashed on the A537 Cat and Fiddle road, in Cheshire, after his motorbike crossed the white line and he swerved to avoid an oncoming car."

I love how they say 'his motorbike crossed the white line' but they didnt want to say how much of an idiot the biker was for riding like that!

Just thinking about the lambo vid.
The mazda pulled out v e r y slowly, making me think that surely, had the lambo driver been doing the limit, he could've braked in time - or at least braked enough to reduce the impact?
Also, had the lambo been braking hard to avoid impact, surely the front end would've dipped lower than a rattlesnake's gonads? In which case, based on the car's wedge shape, would it not have gone under the mazda rather than flying through the air? (it looks to have taken him long enough to bring it to a halt)

Equally the Mazda had plenty of time to stop. If I were driving down that road, with the Mazda coming out so slowly it'd be fair enough to assume they were looking at the same time to check its clear and would have stopped.

I'm still adamant the Lambo wasn't speeding by much if at all, Mazda was doing say 15-20mph max? Lambo didn't pass it at over twice the Mazdas speed from what I can tell.

I was just looking at it from another perspective.
Whilst I fully agree that the mazda shouldn't have pulled out, it also occurs that the reason why it pulled out so slowly might have been that their view to the left was obscured by parked vehicles & so was pulling out slowly just to be cautious & didn't spot the lambo until the last second?
And hard to spot such a low slung car painted matte black?

I'm also now wondering, what was the person videoing as they 'just happened' to capture this million to one event right in front of them?

This kinda puts me in mind of the american wannabe stunt driver that drove like a looney around the city & ended his life by wrapping the car around a pole - he had someone in the car videoing as well as people at various points on his route.

He was flying, they do them "I'm a rich Arab's son I've fetched my car to London to avoid the summer heat listen to the noise" vids all the time and they really do go silly . .
http://youtu.be/d2kEOXUduCk

All that shows it lot of noise. No excessive speed really, I can make lots of noise also at 30mph in 1st or 2nd gear.

The person videoing was pointing the camera where the lambo was going, not where it was, as if anticipating the lambos speed ?
And, according to the article in the telegraph,
"The supercar has been filmed being driven around London in the past with flames firing out of its exhaust"
as well as
"This car is known in London but I had never seen it before. From YouTube videos he enjoys revving the engine to create exhaust flames. ".

Now, this is the interesting part - and, I'm guessing it might just hold vital clues to how the car was being driven immediately prior to impact..."Minutes before the smash, the matte black motor was filmed being driven by its owner. "

Looking at a later vid, that section of street looks fairly straight - and that's the sort of thing these people love so they can drop the gears & put their foot down in order to generate plenty of noise (we get a couple of scoobies do this quite regularly down our street).
And from the same vid, it appears that there are cars parked on either side of the street, which probably gives vehicles just enough room to pass.

The video was taken by one of the numerous YouTubers that go out just to film these high-end cars that plague London. There was a TV show all about the whole phenomenon.... http://www.channel4.com/programmes/millionaire-boy-racers/episode-guide

I read that he heard it coming and started filming, obviously not expecting to capture what he did!
