2000 Seicento Sporting SPI 67K miles
Doing a pre MOT checkup on my Sei.
First thing, I ran it up my ramps, put the handbrake on and the cable snapped (good start):bang:
£15.75 from auto factors down the road, a couple of hours tinkering and that's a job done. Pleased it happened at home on my drive...
Few days ago I noticed all four ARB bushes were shot so started a daily Plus Gassing but not to be, all the bolts/studs snapped.
Biggest problem is the guy who fitted new wishbones a few years back cross threaded one of the 12mm bolts holding the rear wishbone/arb bracket on the near side front.
So, was a tight pig to get out and a tighter pig to get back in. Have ordered new bolts (12mm 1.25 35mm thread length) and a couple of spare nuts in case the captive nut breaks from it's weld.
Hoping to be able to re tap the nut.....
Anyhoo, will have to leave off the ARB for the test (hope that's allowed). It's going back on as soon as I've drilled/re tapped the broken studs but no time to do it pre MOT.
Wishbone ball joint rubber on one side looks shaky with a bit of escaped grease. No play in it but I will replace both sides wishbones ASAP
Will a "pickle fork" tool pop these as there doesn't seem much room for a bolt type splitter?
Onwards and upwards...
Phil
