Some more photos from above. The support/mount is also an earthing point it seems.

Could it be 60619125 or 60657552?

I know that earlier I said no, but I finally got to the ePER made by Chris and that could be the 60652553. It's visible (top) part is almost identical to the 60657552 one. I think.

The 60657552 / 60619125 is a mount from the 1,6/1,8 engines (compatibility except M3), the 60652553 / 60654451 is the one from the 2,0 engine (compatibility M3).

Looking at the photos in post #21 I cannot tell how does it look in the bottom. Definitely it is not from the original Barchetta engine. As from the ePER, both mounts have also been used in the Spider and GTV. So, @tjr, your daughter is an Alfista :D

There is a very simple solution. Drill a hole on the side of the engine bay. Put a screw through the new hole and the mount. Add some rubber, a couple of washers and it will look like straight from the factory :D

Fiat Romeo or Alfiat..? 😏😶

I saw that one of these mounts were also found in some other Fiat models.

I’ll be digging out the variator in the recent future, thus I’ll get the “lucky” chance to have a closer look at the mount. It is either getting bolted or sawed off…

Yes, in the 156 Twin Spark there is a bar that goes through the hole in the rubber and is attached to the mount on the McPherson. And a very similar bar (but with a different number, perhaps it has other length or angle) has been used in the 156 1,9 JTDs, so also in the other cars with same engine from the whole group. The aluminium mount attached to the engine could also be the same / similar.

You probably know how does it work. If a specific part can be used in another model, it will. Because it makes the production cheaper ;)

I think that you'll be able to dig further only when you'll get the engine number of what has been installed.

;)

I can confirm it was a 60657552/60619125-bracket/support/mount (🤷‍♂️❗). I ended up pulling it out of the engine bay and sawing of the section interfering with the engine wall and expansion tank. Yesterday's three test drives confirmed that the hard-right-turn noise-vibration issue is now sorted. Still don't know for sure what type of 1.8L Pratola-Serra engine is under the hood though, but that will be for another time (only one variator (on inlet cam))...
