In case you don't know, we in scotland are to face dangerously large cuts in services to lack of money. This is due to our government simply spending money on things we didn't really need like the broken tram system, a tv in festival square the parlimant building and many more. This came with sources of income (payment for prescriptions and so on) being cut at the same time.

What was it all for? Really I just don't know. I do know for sure it would mostly be due to the fact the government concentrating on nothing but independance because that's what Scots want? I'm a Scot and I thought it was a joke before we even began voting for a devolved government. They gave us galic road signs around the highlands instead of a duel carrigeway on the A9 road (from start to finish, there exist certain stretches but not long enough and there are times folks try anything to get past. Even if it gets them killed), nice going.

Could have been a good Idea they said back then, yeah we're now bigger laughing stocks than the last people who ran the MG Rover group who probably could have done a better job for this country.

It's OK. They managed to put you in that mess, while getting more money in the central government settlement, per head of population than us in England and those in Wales!

This devolution and ultra patriotic attitude costs money don't you know

I sense a bl00dy good ruck coming on here! ;)

Blame the SNP & the last Labour government in England I say.

But I would add... dont expect English sympathy... the English have no say in Scottish politics, nor should we... but Scots do have some say in English politics...

Let battle commence... (y)

Actually that is Edinburgh Council and that was just to spite the residents who rightly said no to road charging.

Certainly there is huge waste in Scotland, having worked in both public and private sectors there is no doubt massive room for cuts in the way the public services are run. Unfortunately, as usual, those that feel the pain will be the lowest paid, hardest working, not the idiots at the top on crazy salaries and pensions.
