test drives?

just wondering if anyone can help me here as dealer websites seem pretty useless

i learned to drive in a 7 year old car and basically i wanna see what its like to drive a brand new car, may sound sad but meh... im gonna say daddies buying me a brand new car for my 18th to try and get a test drive lol

i went on fiat website and put my details foward for a test drive at tj vickers in telford, i imagined theyd do a minimum age thing but it never said anything, also is this for a test drive with a dealer present or a 24hr one?

im also wondering what to expect, i just want to say 'well my dad said go have a look and see what cars so im testing a golf, grande punto, pug 207' etc and let him know what i think

am i gonna get taken into an office and badgered into buying or are they relatively no obligation? just wondering what to expect...

most likely due to ur age they will only do a short test drive not 24hr. also take ur dad with you gives more ops and advice, i know overall it's your choice on what car you choose

So what you are saying is that you have no intention of buying a car but just want to drive around in a new car for a laugh at the dealers expense?

And people sometimes wonder why dealers can be reluctant to just give test drives to anyone that passes the garage.

If you have no luck getting a drive in a GP try the Fire Station explain how your considering joining either the fire service, the police or being homeless.

I'm sure if you tell them you slept in a box the night before and the police are lending you a patrol car for the whole of tomorrow. I'm sure they will give you the keys to a fire engine for half a day or so.

ive had test drives in a few cars lately

if im bored on a weekend sometimes i just go round a garage and walk round (thats not happened lately though ) and if they offer a test drive why not :devil:

got a test drive in a c30 2.0d..... and the dealer asked adam while i was scanning my driver licence why i wanted to test it....

then we went in a c4 vts and the dealer said to go so fast round a roundabout we were literally sideways to test the cars handling... that was a laugh

and then there was the mini cooper... which had hardly any fuel in

the hyundai coupe (new one) annoyed me because the cruise control stalk dug in my leg :bang:

the i30 was reasonably decent car though especially th little 1.6 diesel

the fiat 500 sport i just got chucked the keys to so me and my sister went for a bomb down some back roads :yum::devil:

the bravo was on a set test route... and i drove the tjet like it was a diesel so i hardly went anywhere

also at the motorshow(s) ive driven a few on the set routes
