Technical Temperature gauge sweep when cold

Hello, when starting from cold the temperature gauge sweeps up to max with red light on for about a second then returns to base, but other than that all works normally, and maintains indication at halfway, could it be a sign of thermostat on way out?

software glitch on the instrument cluster. Its something that a lot of grande's do, I see no reason it wouldn't be present in a late model mk2.

Thanks, that would make sense as occasionally the steering error pops up, then resets on restart
