Technical Temperature drop

So my stilo 1. 9 multijet from 2006 has a problem. In idle or when at low rpm temp just drops to zero and returns back fast. I know when you let internal cooler to work it drops a bit. But this drop is 90%. Coul it be thermostat?

It could be... but the only way to test it is to fit a new thermostat.

Have a look at the temperature sensor itself too. If it looks old, dirty and/or corroded clean the connectors up a bit and make sure the connector plug is tight.

The sensor works by measuring resistance, so if you have a poor connection that will affect the readings.

no, a sudden drop of 90 % is not a thermostat problem.
i can be a sensor fault, bad connection in a connector or a internal problem in the instrument cluster.
