OK, trying to isolate just part of my ongoing problems (see my other thread), can someone please tell me whether a TD engine (100 or 125) runs better if a defective MAF is disconnected?
I know on my son's Bravo JTD that when the MAF was not working, the car felt flat & wouldn't rev past 3000. When I disconnected the MAF it worked really well & a new MAF worked equally well.
So, on a JTD if it runs better with the MAF disconnected, then the MAF is clearly at fault.
Does the same thing happen with the TD? The MAF in mine was broken (as in no hot film present!) when I got it, but a new Ebay MAF seems to make no difference, connected or not
