Hi all,
i have a TD100 1997, it has no power at the mo, dont yet have the cash to throw at a fiat garage, but i have spotted a pipe which looks to be coming from the turbo...

it is visible from just opening the bonnet (not under the car) its braided, approx diametr 20mm, it looks very tatty and decrepid, could this be my boost carrier pipe? and the cause of my problems?

cheers

many things are visible when you open the bonnet:D a pic is always a good help (y)

cracked or damaged hose's losing pressure can seriously affect your performance. if in doubt i'd replace it.

that sounds like the pipe from the exhaust to EGR valve, which has a kind of braided heat insulation around it, cos it gets very hot. its not an intake pipe. I doubt this is damaged, as you would have an exhaust leak. The intake hoses go from the turbo down to the intercooler, and back up into the intake manifold. check those ones for cracks and splits, as they can rub off things, including the water pipes to radiator..

no camera, felt i described where the said pipe was well, maybe if you had a TD you would know what i was on about,

i have disconnected the EGR valve, the pipe i refer to however is around an inch in diametr, however the one on the EGR is only around 4mm...

any help would be appreciated, i will try to get hold of a digicam.

thanks.
