Hi everybody,
my bravo is making a new noise on idle.
It seems to come from under the car on the left side when you're in front of the bonnet. Not belt side, other side, between engine and battery.

It is a succession of sharp noises, something like tchipi tchipi tchipi at the speed of the engine at idle 20times a seconds or more. Sharp like a bearing without oil.

I don't hear more if I rev the engine.

Any ideas for something to check? Some experiences?

I have not had a single problem in 5 years, but the last 6 months have seen a lot of signs of elderness, mmm that smells new car, but until then...

Probably the clutch thrust bearing. Get someone to press the clutch pedal, if the noise goes away its the thrust bearing.

It doesn't stop when pressing or releasing clutch.

Does the whole clutch need replacement?

Is a clutch hard to change? Does this need special tools.
