Getting a maroon mohair soft top, variator, timing belt, water-pump and they will be investigating a smell of petrol in the cockpit.
Got a very competitive quote from Paul - will report back.

What's the damage for the new soft top? Mine needs replacing, and I'd like to get a red one to replace the original, which was also red.

I got three quotes for a red mohair supplied and fitted.
Car Hoods Direct £425 (apparently off the shelf), Car Hood Warehouse £550 (manufacture themselves with a 2 week lead time) and DTR at £649 + VAT!
I was going to go to Car Hood Warehouse as they were very helpful and even sent me a fabric sample, however as I'm having other work done, DTR matched their price for the hood.
One word of caution is that the window rubbers, if yours are cracked, aren't made anymore but DTR have some at £650 + VAT!!!
I was considering sticking with my original vinyl top which isn't looking too bad and buying a hardtop (there was one on UK ebay for £350 and ones on German ebay seem to go a bit cheaper), but decided to splash out on a mohair as I keep the car in the garage.
By the way, the red/maroon mohair is about £100 more than black.

Many thanks - that's really helpful. I'd better start saving up!

I have a hard top, but it spends most of its time gathering dust & pigeon-crap in the garage, as I don't take the B out when it's wet!

My soft-top's pretty ropey, and the rubbers are worn (£650+VAT FFS!!! (n)), but I only put the top up when I get caught out in the rain, so it'll do for now.

I might consider selling the hard-top to pay for a new soft-top - that way I get to free up some space in the garage too! :D

If I told you, you might put the price up!

Will do - those prices are mohair, which is quite a bit more expensive than the original vinyl, but I'm hoping that mohair is a bit more 'snug"?

The smell of petrol is in mine too :) (after replacing the fuel pump), some breathing spot or maybe the rubber gasket is shot..
Personally I am considering to replace the fuel tank and pump all together...

Update; having the fuel hoses replaced to cure the petrol smell and having the rear bumper resprayed - all in-house at DTR. Will post some pictures when I get her back.

I've also got a fuel smell. Happening since i changed the fuel pump. I think it's the return fuel hose and would like to replace it with a new one.

Does anybody no where i can source a new one?
