Technical Tailgate wiring rubber

Has anyone had any luck finding a replacement that will fit to replace the wiring rubber cover that goes from the boot lid to the body? The old one has disintegrated.

I believe part number is 7594308 which other than a lot of money from Italy seems unavailable. I’ve tried a generic one off eBay but isn’t long enough (car is around 180mm). Self-amalgamating tape doesn’t seem to work either. I’m debating wandering round a scrapyard trying random cars for something that might fit!

There’s always a work around. If you have a local ‘old style’ breakers, that let you wander around, then that will be your best option. Failing that, there are some Fiat salvage places that may have what you’re after.

1 - That's a simple rubber bellows. You should be able to find lots on ebay, and seal the ends with silicone, if you want a quick repair.

2 - As stated above, get one from a breakers. I can recommend BAXENDEN CAR BREAKERS LTD, who advertise on ebay, and who will strip any item off a car for you. You can call them to ask for a specific part and price...

There seem to be this item on eBay / other for around £20. Not sure if this is a stupid price but probably cost around £10 back in th day.
