Technical T-jet Sei

Technical T-jet Sei

Many folks in PL are doing drags on slicks these days. Very good results, but then also a lot of risk of milling something down...

any idea how he is getting the ecu to work with the turbo ? That just looks like a P85 ecu ?

Yes, quite a good one. It is indeed a stock 18F ECU piggybacked by this:

Just don't remember which version of it he has. Unfortunately the webpage does not yet have an English version. BTW, I have heard that these guys (ECU master) are working on a cutting edge SA system, which is supposed to overshadow most of what is out there. But no sign of any release yet.

That's the Sei from the first post. The other T-jet Sei runs on VEMS.

Just found another nice t-jet project yesterday that is now finished and also very neatly done: ss manifold, no cutting of the slam panel, proper SA management based on the new EMU, and almost factory under the hood appearance:

This is something I see when I think of a proper engine swap / turbo conversion (y)

Isn't this a big no no to having a oil drain line in that way?

The intercooler was changed at the end of the gallery.

Yes, the original t-jet heat exchanger is there.

For the return pipe, I am also suspect of this. It is an original return pipe for sure, but also originally the turbo sits much higher and the return pipe is straight then.

it was a low blow that had been converted to high boost by previous owner.. but if you look at a va low blow system the turbo is pointing straight up so the pipe goes straight from turbo up and across to tb. So whoever converted put a pipe looping up and over and down to ic. And the because of that pipe from the IC to TB had a convoluted bendy way up and round back of coil packs and then a couple more right angles to the TB..

here's a pic..

Theat doesn't look great but my main concern about the previous offering (before they fitted the improved intercooler) was pipes rubbing on things they shouldn't. Now that can get you in a lot of trouble...

I assume yours did too but it's impossible to tell from the picture. And going low to high is no excuse it's not exactly rocket science to clock a turbo. :p
