yeah but it does sound the shizzle. lol. how do you get the 'chatter' noise?

By binning any dump/recirculating valve and pipework- the noise is from the air charge 'backing-up' behind the closed throttle butterfly and getting forced backwards through the spinning compressor blades.

It's not recommended on turbos running high boost or with roller-bearing cores- but personally I think it sounds much better than a dump valve! :D

Here's an example (Youtube's full of clips like these)-

Indeed it has- https://www.fiatforum.com/bravo/120396-blowoff-valve.html

At the end of the day most people would say that atmospheric dump valves are 'chavvy', whatever the age of the driver, or the car it's fitted to- after all, the recirculating valve does exactly the same job, so why have one that makes noise?... Because you want people to notice you, that's all.

You can't possibly say that all atmospheric dump valves are 'chavvy' whatever the age of the driver or car it's fitted to. What defines a chav? something that you do not agree with and therefore use the word 'chav' just as a loose descriptive term, it doesn't really mean anything anymore as it did a few years ago.

You tell me a cool, iconic car drives past and you hear a dump valve, you think 'chav', I think not.

Anyway I do agree that the 'chatter' sounds much better.

And yes aside from self enjoyment of course it's there for people to notice you, thats the case in most things in life ie. fashion, your choice of car in the first place. Thats human nature, granted some more than others but it's human nature. Personally i'd modify an engine for performance not sound, but with a well modified engine comes a good sound in any case.
