Hi, I'm owning a Fiat Bravo 07 T-jet. Would like to check any of u install a Blow off Valve in his Bravo yet? If yes, does the air bring released needs to channel back in? Thanks in advance.

It will already have a recirculating valve no?

Actually not really sure how this Bravo T-jet works. Cos turbo cars now a days usually recirculate the air back into the system so that the waiting time for air is less but my mechanics says this car does not do that and he suggests just blow off into atmosphere. I wanted to check w u guys to see if its true.

Is your mechanic a proper Fiat Tech, or is he just guessing?

If he'd actually looked under the bonnet he'd see the recirculation valve and pipework ( number 7 in the pic)

Most manufacturers use recirculating systems for petrol turbos due to their quieter operation.

Hi Thanks for the info. Was really amazed when the mechanics told me to blowoff into Atmosphere. Will show him the pic and see what he says. But has anyone here did the Valve?

so...D4nny8oy...if i just disconnect the number 7 thing...it will sound just like a blow off valve, right???i've seen a video in youtube that explains how to do this but i can't really understand...

I cant understand why anyone would want to mess around with the valve, one im sure as Hellcat pointed out that the warranty would be made void, and the second reason i take it, is just so that the hiss sound will be heard when driving around:confused:

Disconnecting it completely is a bad idea as the recirc. valve is ECU controlled and it would likely cause the EFI lamp to illuminate and the system to switch to 'limp-home' mode.

Also you'd need to blank-off the hole in the inlet hose to the turbo where the recirc. pipe re-enters, or you'd allow dirty air in.

Besides, as Bluebravo says, you'd instantly void the warranty on the engine components, and the noise wouldn't be anything special, especially on standard boost. I had an atmospheric dump valve on my XR3i Turbo (stop sniggering at the back- 226bhp is 'lively' on an open diff ), and even running 22psi it never sounded great...

So I binned it and went for 'chatter' instead....:D

And before you ask about doing that to your T-jet- that's a whole new can of worms...

Quite. Was going to post something similar but have been posting synical things these days. Can't see the Bravo as a "blow-off" valve type car - it's not an Escort afterall.

i just like the sound and here in greece no one knows anything about what type, brand, model e.t.c. blow off valve i need....so if you know,i'd be greatfull...and of course... is it going to be without any loss in power-performance?
