where is the switch ment to be for the front fogs in a hlx/hgt

got an sx the wires are there but cant seem to find the wires in the dash

Next to either the rear fog or rear demister switch.

There is a PCB behind that switch pannel.

i have a 1.6 sx just put the hlx bumper on it today the wires are there so how would i go about activating them do i just need to pull of a blanking plate and fit the button or do i need to go and get the pcb from the hlx?

Re: Pcb

i also have a SX but JTD

i cant find fog wires, however i do have a yellow plastic wire with a clack two prong connector on the end. not sure what this is. i have a HGT switch panel which dosnt work with the JTD wiring behind the switch panel

if anyone can nail this question that i have pondered for a long time id be greatful too

thanks

scottemotive if worst comes to worst and its not a simple matter of popping out a blanking plate and putting in a switch, i will design a control pcb for it at work cos i want it to b an authentic switch rather then a maplins one somewhere

if possible could you take a picture of the board you have lying about so i can see a general idea of what we are aiming for (pic of switches on the board and the board)

Re: Pcb

I believe you need to buy a wiring harness which connects to a connector on the passenger side of the car for the foglights themselves.

When I last had the dash in bits on my SX the PCB was there and had space for the switch, it just hadn't been soldered in.

Re: Pcb

Cool tom you told me just what i wanted to hear

i have the wireing it was left in the bumper iv pluged it in, all i need now is the actual fog lights to go in the holes the theving buggars took them out b4 they sold it to me (problem with mail order scrappies)

oh and the switch for the dash i wonder if fiat stock them as replacements??? any one got the electronic parts catalogue???

Re: Pcb

You'd need the switch cap, the mechanism looked like a stock maplin type switch.

Re: Pcb

Scott the reason yours doesn't work is because the switch you have is from a older HGT, if you buy the one i had too, to pass the MOT then it'll fit your connectors, but it'll cost around £100 for the switch panel.

You need a switch panel of a W reg or Newer.
