Converting to FIAT sporting springs and shocks might annoy the Insurance company less, might be cheaper to get a sporting, and stay 'standard', if you still have spots.
Sportings can hit the ground in normal traffic obstacles.
I'm sure someone who has lowered their Sporting will have the old springs lying about. If the shocks have more than 40k miles on them, worthwhile replacing with decent OE stuff -- KYB, Bilstein, Monroe, etc.
