I have just taken my 5 month old Brava 80sx to a local dealer because my front suspnsion had become very soft and the car is driving like a boat. They have told me that the two front shocks need replacing. I've done 15,000 miles so it should be covered by the warranty, but I wondered what could have caused it (I don't take the **** going over speed bumps etc) and if anybody else has had the same problem?

Springs

Hi,

I thought the Springs should last as long as the life of the car. People normally change the springs because they want the car lowered or want it to be stiffer.

Any comments?

Springs

Springs should be good for 100k miles, shocks do go, tho they should last longer than 15k

shockers

The springs aren't the problem, it's the shock absorbers that develop a leak. It's a VERY common and known problem. Look back in the forum and you'll see laods on the subject. Had to have mine changed at 15K too. Course they have to be replaced in pairs. Bleeding Fiat design fault with poor field testing. Should have been a recall.
