Hey all,

Does anyone know where you can get reasonably priced uprated struts / shocks for the Marea ??, can't seem to find any at all.

Also what kind make of lowering springs are any good ??.

Any help appreciated

dont think you can get any uprated shocks for the Marea, there are a pair of FK coilovers that the front will fit however the rears may not (i'm unsure as they are for a bravo)

they can be found here:
http://www.speedbox.co.uk/products/...l=11557;type=fk_highsport_coilover_suspension

PI make a set of -40mm springs which everyone uses and then you can get a sparco strut brace for a Bravo and you will be impressed i think (y)

Cheers Ry,

Will have to look into this now that I know the HGT Bravo/Brava shocks will fit the front. My brother has an Alfa 155 and he had some spare rear shocks lying around, so we thought we would try them on my Marea and they fitted her fine.

He has some front struts as well of his V6 going spare as well so I think I'll try and see if they will fit. Will post info when I get the chance as the 131 project is gathering momentum !!.

get some KYB excel-G gas shocks, stiffer than standard and wel priced (usually cheaper at your motorfactor)

fronts: http://www.buypartsby.co.uk/kyb-sho...y.php?txtmodel=Marea&Submit=Next&txtmake=Fiat
rears: http://www.buypartsby.co.uk/kyb-sho...y.php?txtmodel=Marea&Submit=Next&txtmake=Fiat

notice on the rears there is also the option for KYB gas-a-just, which are adjustable gas shocks, better than the excel-g, but cost more. i dont know why gas-a-just isnt listed for the fronts, but i would imagine they're available if you enquire.

lowering springs (excluding diesels):http://www.buypartsby.co.uk/lowering_springs_details.php?txtmodel=Marea&Submit=Next&txtmake=FIAT

I had KYB on the Tempra, they are very good shocks, I could not find a set for the Marea, there are Konis, but very expensive so I did not bother.

think i'll try them KYB shocks!

can you set them nice and hard then?

EDIT: doesnt look as if they are actually adjustable, they are just 'high performance' shocks, still, worth a shot for £40!

Hi Fellas,

Attempted to fit my brothers shocks of his Alfa, but only got as far as looking at them I'm afraid !!. The main difference is that the Alfa strut does not have the mounting for the drop link that the Marea has.

His anti roll bar is slightly different, in that his drop links bottom mount fastens through the lower wishbone, and then onto the end of the rollbar.

If you can change the anti rollbar for an Alfa one then you should be able to fit the shocks from the 155. Has anyone changed a Marea rollbar and is it a pain in the arse or easy ??.

I don't think you can fit either Alfa or Bravo/Brava ARB on a Marea. Checking the distance between ARB mounting holes on both arms could be the first test.
