I’m looking at replacing the suspension in my Mk1 Tub and am just wanting to clarify a few things.

My understanding of the Uno/Punto relationship is that they share common suspension components. Correct me if I’m wrong but this could mean that I’ll be able to get a Punto GT or Sporting coilover kit and put that in? There’s a bit more choice when it comes to Punto kits.

And am I better going coilover or just getting a lowering kit? I’m guessing most coilover kits just have a lowered springs and uprated dampers in the back anyway… I feel like I want to avoid getting Spax stuff but I’m not entirely sure where that notion comes from…

If I can’t use Punto stuff then my only choice is the AVO GTZ kit, not sure if keen.

Can't help you with your question really, but can say I inherited a spax kit on my Uno and the dampers seem okay but the springs are really.....springy.....if you know what I mean, not hard and lowered like they should be, might be due to age.
