Supersprint Vs. Powerflow ?

Just been down to my local garage (Brittania tyers and exhausts) to ask about an aftermarket exhaust. He told me they only did powerflow but showed me the selection he had. Basically any tail pipe you want on a cat back system, fitted inc vat for £280. Which i thought was bloody good. (I may be wrong though) They actually make it there and then to order. Not off the shelf halfords crap. He said it will give me 15% extra brake straight away. Is that true ? Also why should i go for powerflow over supersprint?

15% extra BHP is total cobswallop. Unless you have an American 5.7 V8 Supercharged Lump in your Bravo.

You'll be lucky to gain 3-4bhp which is 3-4% on the original (100bhp in the 1.6 - or is it 103?)

No american muscle under there im afraid just the usual 100bhp bravo engine. Don't believe it myself and normally would have been the first to question such a statement. But me being a red blooded male was 2 busy checking out the receptionist behind him. I swear she kept looking at me....or could it have been the clock behind me?? Hmmm... was nearly lunch time i spose :(

My mule likes being a guineapig, so we'll give anything a try! Don't totally discount what he's saying about gains. My custom job gave me 17bhp, but only +4 bhp ontop of the 155 it should hve been in the first place!

on a 1.6 i guess you'll get 2bhp. powerflow are NOISY on fiats though! tell them you want it quiet, and make sure they use the largest mufflers available. especially the middle one, as its quite big on the bravo.

Supersprint sound much better, much more tuned, and only sporty when you put the gas on. powerflow tend to rumble just from idling, and get louder the faster you go. they peak at about 4,000 rpm, which is about 70mph in fifth gear :(

I loved the powerflow, but now that i'm using supersprint, i doubt i'd go back. Unless you are doing ALOT of tuning, an exhaust is not really a good performance mod. stlye and sound, yeah though.

Cheers for the input guys. Waiting for my reiger rear to come first before i have one built but i'll let everyone know what it turns out like though. For the price i thought it was good value and even if theres not much powergain the sound and look will be good enough for me.

supersprints are nicer though ;) their design is not estimated by the guy building the powerflow, and they are a similar price too! powerflow ones often work out a little cheaper initially, but you might have to go back to get it fixed, as they aim for acceptable, not ideal (which is what the supersprint is imho)

also, that whole lifetime guarantee is a waste of time unless you really think you'll keep the car for many many years. also, you have to return to them, within 3 weeks of the anniversary of the day it was fitted, to have it supposedly checked and your 'service log' stamped! bit of a waste of your time methinks.

What about a Ragazzon...theres really good choice of pipes and even a sports cat and its all stainless steel.

Supersprints are decent though...best fitting exhaust and doesnt drone much. Centre pipes dont last long though and its not very nice sounding. It sounds good up until 3000rpm and then becomes quite boomy like a 4cylinder bomb. Mine is a Mk2 HGT and i think the 147HGT sounds ALOT better...Audi quattro-esque!
