I have just been poking around under the bonnet of my new kit car, and the air filter is simply a small peice of sponge fastened on top of the carbs. There is absolutly no spare room to fit a normal air filter, not even a small one, but I was looking at the website for these cars and some guy reckons its better to.......(wait for it).......
get a metal tea strainer, cut off the mesh and fasten that over the carbs, and dont bother with any foam at all.

What do you guys reckon?

Just wait does the air filter do, apart from cleaning the air, and stopping bits of shite getting into your carbs?

Great idea!
I think I'll do that on my Bravo.
I was thinking of getting a new motor, anyway.

Curiosity.
It killed the cat'.
Didn't do the air filter much good, either.

So..................would the car go faster? I mean the mesh must be very close in a tea strainer, after all it stops tea leaves:)

"stops tea leaves"

WOW! A security device as well!
