sub question

Buy an active sub (the amp is installed into it allready) and read the instructions to fit it, simple! Show a guy/gal in halfords (or another shop that sells wires) the handbook and he/she will suply you with the wires. Fitting it is simple choosing the sub is the hard part as theres so many out there.

so whats all the malarky about drilling into the bulk head etc....?

sounds kinda complicated and permanent!

I had a bad experience with fitting my head unit (how i found this site) anyhows it turned out to be faulty but it put me off doing stuff myself!

would fitting rear speakers be as easy as unplug, remove and plug new ones in just out of interest?

lol, well thts wat the forums for
rite on some cars there already is a hole from your bulkhead (under ur bonnet) to your dash. this is where you have to put the power cable thru from the battery to the amp, simple stuff, if there isnt a hole there you just drill one to get thru. you just have to figure would be a good place to put a hole, take the glove box out and you shud be able to get aces that way
sort of for the speakers, usually they are just spade connectors that slide on and off, you should get new connections with your speakers, if not just go 2 any audio place and ask for some
but if its stil the standard speaker then it is all part of the one sealed unit so you will probably have to buy adapters as well which screw on to were the original speaker was and leave you the proper holes to screw your new speakers to then you just join the connectors again
