just try to match the amps RMS rating to the sub's RMS rating, or have a slightly more powerful amp to avoid clipping

Headroom is always a good thing. So long as your sending a clean (ie, undistorted, non clipping) signal to your speakers, you can generally get away with running them a little harder :devil:

The Type E subs are rated at 200w rms, so look for an amp that does at least that.

What other equipment have you got in your car at the moment?

jvc head unit, and fusion 6x9s (the 360watts i think)

If funds allow, get 4 channel amp.

2 channels will drive your Fusions with more power (ugh ugh ugh) and a cleaner signal than your head unit - better, louder sound quality

Use the other 2 to spank your sub silly and you'll poo yourself at how good it sounds.

My advice would be to buy a high quality amp, but second hand. Phoenix Gold, Rockford Fosgate, Alpine are pretty good and can be bought cheap 2nd hand.

Then at some point, loose the 6 x 9's and get some decent components up front for greater soundstage and sound quality
