sub boxes

whats best to make a sub box? usually its mdf, but that doesnt provide a lot of shaping.

ive found a guide on making a box out of fibre glass wool (the finer kind of fibre glass matting) but does it really make a difference apart from the unlimited designs you could create?

obviously its light, but what about how it sounds...
