And that's me being polite.
Went out to hoover the Flying Chicken tonight, and found scratches on the roof and drag marks on the roof rails. Somebody has obviously put something on my roof when parked next to me, then dragged it off leaving the mess behind. How f-ing rude is that?
Anyhow, here's me digging out the touch up paint, knowing that it's going to leave a horrible mess, coz you can't really touch up a five inch scratch with one of those little brushes, and I came across a scratch remover thing that I'd bought about a year ago for another car, and hadn't worked.
Anyhow, what the hell, I thought I'd give it a go, and the results were AMAZING! I wish I'd taken before and after photos to show you... my car is blue, the scratches were through to white. A couple of goes with the scratch remover, and I've just a couple of tiny bits than need touchup paint. Originally there were three or four long, swirly scratches, and it looked like someone had dragged a nail file over the roof bars! The remover is a bit like a marker pen, just draw on the scratches, and they disappear! Wipe off the excess, re-apply in an hour or so. I think it's some sort of lacquer that reflects the paint to hide the scratch - works fine on my metallic paint, didn't have as much effect on the original car I got it for, which was non-metallic.
I then used it on the light scratches in the door handle recess, and they disappeared too. You need to do two or three coats, otherwise the scratches seem to reappear. It's not going to work for everything, but well worth a couple of quid, if you ask me.
This is what I used - available all over ebay...
