Stupid question - but I need to know

Does anyone know where to get replacement parcel shelf strings (plastic bits snapped off mine 2 days after I bought the car)

Asked at Fiat dealership, looked at me like I was from another planet.

PS Brava SX80, also trying to change gear knob, told it will pull off with brute force, struggling, need to find a bigger brute - any ideas.

PPS ideas for getting gear knob off...... not where to find bigger brute!

As for pulling your knob I also had difficulties.

I took the top vinyl layer off with a v sharp knife. Under that you will find a hard white plastic/acrylic. I then attacked this with a drill intil I'd made enough holes in it to be prised off.

why does everyone always say go to a scrap yard...its just an excuse because you dont know the answers. poor people asking questions never know what to really do because scrap yards are scary!!!!

a) they have thousands of cars with all the little annoying bits you dont dare ask for at a garage because they will look at you like you are from another planet.

b) Plus scrap yards are free (for the little things).

c) Scrap yards are everywhere, also open on sundays. unlike Fiat garage.

d) because it's a bit of string.

some are f**king wa**ers aswell! i got loads of s**t of a scrappy last week! they through a fit when i said can i return it if its not right for any reason and they tryed to put an extra £10 through on my card!cheecky gits!! (rant over!) (for now)

Some can be scary admitedly (and they always have the biggest dirtiest alsation nr the entrance) BUT as fiat no longer make a lot of parts now for the bravo (out of production since 2001) it sometimes the ONLY place you can get parts for our beloved cars.

If I hadnt have gone to a scrappers for my last bit for my car I would have been stung £1300 for a new gearbox from fiat. Instead I got one for £160 from a scrappers off a punto with only 16k on it!

you do get some dodgy charactors,
i needed a replacement airbox for my uno. he told me it was £25 because if someone wanted the engine, it would not be complete LOL
paid £5 for it in the end
