lol, well i got it all done in the end, some long pry bars did the job, but theres also a story to come.
after i had got the gearbox off, i noticed the thrust bearing and the clutch seemed okay... this worried me, as my problem then might lie with the gearbox...
i put it all back together and started it up, it wasnt running properly thanks to me forgetting to put the vacum hose on the ecu XD, but after that it worked fine, it pulled away in 1st and reverse, so i fort id take ir for a spin. i took it easy for the first few miles as the car hadnt been run for six weeks, and then gave it a good thrashing, although it felt okay, when you decelerated from 60 or so, there was a shudder and a loud creeking, as i backed it off a little it seemed to go away, so i went to overtake someone, in 4th gear about 4000 rpm and half way through, the car just went "CLUNK" and reved off the needle! i had no drive !
as i slowed down ready to pull over at about 20 or so, i was trying all gears and pumping the clutch and booosh, it went back in again ! and off i went. started to go through the forest back roads and "clunk" it went again.....
this time i couldnt get it into gear at all and slowed to a halt. it wasnt good becaues i was in the middle of the new forest, pitch black, and i had left my mobile at home. after i had flagged someone down and called my dad, he arrived with a tow rope. only to find his new r32 doesnt have a f***ing rear towing eye ! So we tied it around a bit in the chassis and got ready to go, and i turned my car off, thinking that a 15 min run would charger the battery, i went to start it, and it was dead ! we decided to jump start it, so he began to tow me, and just at that point, i realised that if i have no drive, it wont jump! so im there in the pitch black with no power, the horn doesnt work, the light dont work, and im trying to get his attention coz it wont jump and i have basically no servo brakes, and could hardly stop !!!
at this point i had the door open me standing up and waving and shouting for him to stop... and eventually did. we then had to go home get the jump leads and eventually got home!!!!
at this point i was rather peeved as i had just spent two whole day changing the clutch, and it makes no difference at all, its still broken.
i think i need a new gearbox :/
in other news, i will be writing up the other half of the guide tomorrow and it sould hopefully be up on the site tomorrow =]
