ive recently got this 1.9 jtd (115) multiwagon and ive noticed that their seems to be some form of oil leak or similar on a pipe to the right of the engine and im wondering if anyone has any idea what it might be, according to the oil level indicator in car ive lost 3 circles in two weeks so im getting a little worried (still plenty oil in at moment checked on dipstick also) And also every now and then the car seems to hesitiate or misfire just once for like a second but its very sporadic and not at same time all the time.

ideas appreciated

are you sure its not the intercooler pipe (large bore), it could be there is a nic in the pipe as it passes though from the intercooler to the turbo, this is a common fault. Do you get a whoosh noise?
that would also account for the hesitation you have noticed.
Another thing to check is any oil in your water, if there is then that would explain the loss of oil and give you a big bill.

i dont notice any whoosh noise and its got plenty of power bar the hesitation, but ill try and get a pic of the offending pipework later. theirs no oil in the water either far as i can see

that hard plastic pipe with the oil patch is the boost feed from intercooler to inlet manifold, don't think that will be the issue.
the thing above that patch is the actuator for the anti shudder valve in the neck of the manifold, ive seen threads of others having oil pooling at the antishudder flap and running out of the spindle down into the actuator or over it.
worth checking that out.
I don't think theres any fuel over there?
any chance its coolant? the thermostat housing rad pipes heater pipes etc are all by that patch also.

dont think its coolant as its not seeming to be using any as far as i can tell. i know i need to get the egr off and give it a good clean at some point aswell so ill check out the anti-shudder aswell. i dont smell any fuel but i did not realise what the item caked in oil actually was so i was suspecting it may be a fuel filter or similar, (not up on the fiat desils as yet - used to a flat four 1.5 petrol(impreza) and vw group oil burners :) )
