General Strange braking problem 1.9Mjet120

I bought the car in May 07 plate. Had new brakes fitted at the time of purchase. Done around 7K on them.

Since i bought the car there had been another problem of the car veering to the left. I sorted that out by replacing the front tyres. Tyres were ok tread wise but one of the walls must have been shot.

But since the tyres a new problem has developed.

There is a lot of travel on the brakes. You have to push down over halfway to get any purchase on the brakes. I took it back to the dealer I bought it from and they checked the brakes over. They flushed the system and replaced the brake fluid. No fault was found. I have also had the tyres checked. Nothing wrong with them either.

But im still having the same problem. My dad said it could be the calipers seizing up. Should I take it in and get the wheels stripped and the calipers checked?

Calipers seizing wouldn't affect travel, normally would cause binding of the pads to the disks.

Does the car stop properly? Some cars jsut have different levels of servo assistance to others, I'd have said there isn't to much of an issue myself.
