Punto (Mk2/2b) Storing radio codes

Recently bought a Punto for the wife to run around in. I found the radio in the boot. When i fitted it i got the "code" message. Went online got a code and was able to enter it, but how do i store it? The web site said after inputting the code press pre set 1 then 3. This dont work i just get a wait message. Help

wait usually means code not accepted and so you need to leave radio on to clear the lock down
theres a procedure but i have forrgotten it. maybe google can help again here
are you sure radio is compatable with spec of your car because not all factory radios work in all models and may be the reason radio was in boot

No i,m not sure if they are compatable. Just assumed it was the correct radio for the car. All wireing was correct,,and its a Fiat / Philips radio. Got the code from a site using I D numbers printed on the radio label and indented in the radio itself. Maybe its just not the correct code. Thanks anyway.

Punto stereos we're made by Blaupunkt not Philips so most likely you don't have the original

Get a Blaupunkt stereo from a scrappy or ebay and use that code and you should be all set.

so you could buy a cheap one from ebay codeless and get the code here

remember as i said earlier though if you car is say a mia then a punto high cd player will not work in your car so either ask on here and we will try to guide you or ask the seller
