Hello all, can anyone please help me. I have a Stilo 1.6 and the other week I took off my battery to replace a bulb. Reconnected it and it idled funny, was sluggish and staled allot. Then got the engine light on dash, lamber malfunction and cat dead (got code reader). I have now replaced the lamber and cat (that was painful to the wallet!) clear the codes and it now runs fine, BUT when warm sometimes when I come to a stop it will rev up then down a couple of times then stall!? Similar to a lamber fault? Also it feelsa little underpowered? Theres no engine fault codes? I have check.

I have cleaned the Inlet Control Valve / throttle body thanks to the Stilo guides. And it is still doing this??? :bang:

Any idears? Need to short this ASAP as I'm going on a 1000 mile round trip in March.

Cheers

Leighton

Recently my 1.6 multiwagon would change rev's from 800 - 250 and an odd time stall. Cleaned the idle / intake valve / flap as you did, added a dose of STP injector cleaner and then once used added some Wynn's injector cleaner and changed my plugs. Fingers crossed either one or the combination seems to have sorted it.

plugs were change not long ago. I'v now got it book in my mates dads garage were his friend will look at it. He's a mad Fiat fan so cross fingers.

Thanks guys

Will keep you posted

Had similar thing - turned out to be a coil on the way out as suggested. Fault was intermittent at first but went out completely over 2 days.

The odd thing is:

January - Had head gasket done - drove car away - everything fine - coil went 1 hour later.
February - Had fault codes checked and some removed while other bits were being done. Drove car away, everything fine, within a couple of hours new symptoms start and another coil goes.

The car has done 43K. So either the coils are all at the end of their life or there is something very weird happening. It's going in for a cambelt at the end of the week - if another coil goes then I'll get really worried.

Thanks for the replys guys.

The Stilo is finished and they could not find anything wrong with it? So I'm going to have to drive it and see what happens

And why is it so hard to find a garage to do the tracking on a lowered car? I could only find one garage that could do it.... a TVR garage (well i do live in Blackpool lol)
