hi i drive an 52 plate abarth selespeed and was wondering if anybody else has had kagarooing whilst tring to do manuver in tight space. its a real pain. it only used to do whilst cold but in the last couple of days its doing it all the time.
Also it struggles to get into reverse first thing in the morning. have to leave it running about a minute before it will select reverse.
Does anybody know weather changing the g/box oil would help it. its only done 49k miles.
i love the car even with the warning lights flashing up saying i got number plate lights out when their fine and the passenger air bag warning flashing every now and then.
thanks in advance.

Also try a manual reset.

Open and close the drivers door 10 times. Can't remember if the ignition has to be on or off.

Worst case is:

10 open/close igntinion off

10 open/close igntinion on

10 open/close igntinion engine running in neutral.

1st or 2nd option can get a stuck car that fails to select a gear up and running again.

I think that the door open/close 10 times thing might be one of those forum urban myths... :(

Most likely problem is the accumulator is on the way out and struggling to build the pressure necessary to engage gears, which is why you have to wait a minute or so for it to engage reverse. It'd be worth getting it onto an Examiner system to diagnose any issues as unfortunately, that's the only thing that can  In the meantime, it might be worth disconnecting the battery for an hour or so to see if it resets anything in the ECU's.

Good luck matey! (y)
