Dads got a 53 plate JTD Dynamic MW (going for a holiday in Germany in 3 weeks time in it and sharing the driving & I cant wait!!!) and it feels much more solid that my 52 plate & his px'd 03 plate 1.6 Active Aircons... in a different league entirely. The load space is big, even compared to my old Serena with the 3rd row of seats folded out of the way (i.e. 5 seat & large boot mode as opposed to 8 seat & squashy bags only mode)

Cyber 52 - Your lucky... but don't tempt fate ;)

The Stilo is very well put together, not as well built as the Grande Punto though. I haven't ruled the Punto out completely yet. Even the entry level Active is well specced, ABS, EBD, steering wheel CD controls, electric windows, etc.

Although they are entirely different cars it is proving to be a hard choice. It basically comes down to practicality verses, erm, I'm not sure what it verses. :bang:

Chances are it will be the Stilo. I've really fallen for it. It's just so... Useful... I could see me camping in France and sleeping in the boot with the rear seats folded down. The passengers seat even folds down into a table! How cool is that!? :D

A drive in the Punto should help as well.

The punto you are also looking at is only a 1.2 compared to this 1.6 stilo, when going camping with many bodies + equpiment, it will be hard going and that extra 400cc will be noticed although you do have the 750 panda :chin:

Stilo wins it for me, its more multi purpose and atm that sounds as what you are looking for.

Also how come you are always permanantly signed offline steve????

So I can keep an eye on you John without you knowing I'm watching. ;)

Lol! ;)

As just said on another thread in the stilo bit, the stilo MW is not the most popular in terms of sales, ive not seen many about, so i would have thought fiat dealers would want to try and increase sales on it, so it could turn out to be a bargain buy for the money, more so than the punto :)

For the money I would say it's impossible to find an equivalent car with such low mileage. Bargain is right. (y)

but i am also saying at the same time there may be a bit of bargaining in it as well especially with the croma on sale as well

You know you want the estate! I've got a queue of friends wanting to borrow me and the Marea for moving stuff around. No skin off my back the marea handles it with no trouble and it leaves me with a whole army of favours to return... now when do I fancy having my garden relaid? :chin:

Once you've used an estate you'll always have one. They're just sooooo useful. The only thing I'd suggest is that you buy a lot of bungees or cargo nets otherwise your eggs, ham and mushrooms will be an omlette by the time you get home (there is a lot of space for carrier bags to move around!)

The grande punto is new and unproven, it may turn out to have all those electrical problems that you're fretting about the stilo having.
