hi could you tell me what are the standard size speakers in the front of the fiat stilo sare they 6.5 and can i just put in another set without any other parts or work

Hi again monster, was wondering this myself just today! I was thinking though about the effect of using the standard speaker cables with better speakers, I wonder how much difference a more expensive cable really does make and if it is only a difference geeks would notice.

Fiat Stilo Abarth 3dr. Loden Green, Beige Leather, Sky Window, Cold Climate Pack, 17" Alloys, CD Changer, 260w 8 Speaker Stereo.

That would depend on your geek-level I'd guess :)

I'd say, given a little experience of HiFi at home and in-car, that so long as it's a decent gauge wire to the speakers (ie not telephone wire), changing it won't make an awful lot of difference, your sound quality is largely down to four things, the source material, the player, the amp, and the speakers. A speaker upgrade is one of the cheaper options to improve sound quality, and if you're really bothered, a new amp can make a world of distortionless music arrive at your ears, if you're pickier still, and have money left (and patience!) improve the pickup (CD player).

The Kenwoods I have in the front are 17cm.

It isn't as simple as replacing the speakers. The existing cones are part of a large 'pod'. Instead of replacing the whole assembly and buying an adapter housing, I just ripped the existing cones out of the pod, cut the lip from around the edge and screwed the new speakers into place.

I ran new cable from the crossover to the where the tweeter is housed and from the crossover to the midrange, but utilised the existing cable for supplying the crossover (from the HU).
