Stilo Audio problem

Hi Guys,

I own a 02 Stilo 3dr 1.9 JTD which seems to have just got itself a audio problem.
basically it seems intermittent at the moment, and the problem is this.

I turn on the radio and some times the passenger door speakers doesnt seem to be working then all of a sudden it will start working then it goes off again..
this can be for minutes or seconds..
also a crackling sound like a bad reception which Im not sure if its related or not

Has any one else seen anything like this or have an idea of what it could be?

If the other speakers are working Jedi then I would hazard a guess that the connections to the door speakers are suspect. You should find the main connector has a bayonet fitting onto the door on the hinge side. Try some electrical cleaning fluid/spray on the contacts and refitting the connector. This junction also carries all the leads to the windows mirrors and puddle lights (if fitted).

I had this problem with my driver's door except that the whole door and the external temperature sensor went dead.

Thanks for the quick response.. The connector you are speaking about is that the one in the rubber sleaving ? has loads of pins or are you speaking about inside the actual door itself?

Any idea how you get to the speaker dont tell me its a case of removing the whole door panel can i remove just the grill and access it that way?
