Stilo and Punto 1.9 jtd's

Just been comparing the Punto 1.9 JTD Eleganza (3 dr) and the Stilo 1.9 JTD Dynamic (3 dr)

Whats the difference between these two engines?! Is the punto's one an older version?

I just can't believe the difference between the two!

stilo jtd vs punto jtd

0-60: 10 secs - 11.8 secs

power: 115 bhp - 85 bhp

top speed: 119mph - 108mph

Torque: 255Nm - 145Nm

Can anyone explain it?

Expect one is detuned (lower pressure turbo, smaller injectors, different map?) given the different size of cars.

Do you reckon the punto one can be remapped aswell?

EDIT(answering own question)- just looked at angel tuning and it can.

Anyone got the figures?

EDIT-(answering my own question again....)- just looked on angel tuning and it is 125 bhp after, and the stilo can go to about 155bhp.

can anyone explain?

The Stilo JTD can actually go up to 170bhp, with a new exhaust system

Joe, think that's due to the injectors and turbo and not just map

The Punto has smaller injectors and turbo. However the Punto is quicker with 130 than the Stilo is with 155 after remapping.

I hope those tuned Puntos dont have the same dodgy clutch that goes wrong in the rest of them!!
