Hi,

First of all, I'm new to this forum so here-by my introduction (y).
Got myself a Stilo 1.6 about two weeks ago which is doing great so far.

Now I've had the idea of tuning it up a bit both interior and exterior wise, which is why I got a cheap deal on two nice sport chairs including the sparco-frames. After picking them up and dismantling the factory passenger side chair I realized there were some airbag cables and whatsoever and sure enough after I unplugged those the error message appeared on the dash "Airbag Failure".

I asked for help on a dutch forum, as it is probably easier to get answers in your native language but so far no success in terms of replies - so that's why I'm taking the matter to this forum.

Anyway, they linked me to an emulator website, which technically replaces the airbag sensor and that would apparently get rid of the issue, after ordering one and plugging it in the to the grey connector (which already had nothing plugged into it in the first place?) the error remained on the dashboard. I took the entire seat out and tried to trace where the orange connector went up to and it seems like the actual chair has an airbag inside the seat. So either way I would have had this issue since my sport seats does not have any electronics/wiring inside them or whatsoever.

Is there a way to disable the airbags INSIDE the chairs through software so that I'm still able to assemble the sport seats without getting errors on the dash? or is this out of the question?

Thanks in advance.

I am NOT an expert so i will tell you what i know but i an NOT a technician so i may be wrong in some things. The airbags on the seats are safety devices and you should NOT change your seats for your own safety (because some day you or one of your passengers may need these airbags), but if you want to disable them it not a matter of the just the emulator. I mean that in the drivers seat you have wires for: 1)airbag, 2)seatbelt reminder (and i am not sure but it is for seatbelt pretensioner too), and 3)(if you have) electrically heated seats. For the passenger it must have one more wire for ocs (if your stilo has ocs). The emulator you bought it is probably for the ocs sensor. So if you want to change your seats, you must 'cheat' the airbag ecu, so that he sees that all these systems that they work ok. I don't know how to do this, but it won't be easy. Again i recomment you to keep the seats as they are, because airbags and seatbelt pretensioners are important (and compex) safety devices.
